Today the results were good and I just want to tell you that looking back at the diet plan which I have created for this player to follow for 1 week during the tournament was noticed that at the semi finals match she did skip her lunch and she went to the court without having her lunch and as a result of that she had some ups and low during the match.
We then got smarter and made sure she was kept hydrated and had a good plate of carbs before her match mainly carbs for quick energy 👊🏽 ……!
Good results today and was it has been a pleasure working with this little one and well done for her winning today tennis Middlesex County 14U tournament 🎾🎾🎾🎾

Your first meal is the key to turn your body on for the day.
Eating a good breakfast when you get up, or directly after training will be an important start to how you fuel your day. Putting the right energy in around training will mean you have energy to burn and be more likely to train harder and better.
✨Why breakfast is crucial for athletes:
1- Within 30 minutes of waking up the body is like a sponge in anticipation of absorbing energy from food so there is fuel for the body to work.
2- If this opportunity is missed your metabolism starts to slow down.
3- Your body is then forced to find energy through breaking down the body’s stores – including muscles – which is a slow and inefficient process to best fuel training.
4- If training whilst fasting, it needs to be done under controlled conditions and match the training and outcomes you have in place, otherwise it is not recommended.

✨✨If you’re an athlete, you need complex carbohydrates and protein from foods like oats in your diet from specific sources to provide you with energy without causing a blood sugar crash, and to repair and refuel your muscles. While some grains, such as brown rice, are healthy and contain beneficial nutrients, their overall nutritional profile doesn’t compare to that of oats.
✨✨Here’s Why Every Athlete Needs Oats:
1. B vitamins
B vitamins are important for a healthy metabolism, energy, brain health, and muscle function. Oats offer an immediate hit of B vitamins, including Vitamin B3, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B7, and Vitamin B9. Though eggs are often thought of as a top source of B vitamins, oats have so much more to offer in the B department. Though they’re lacking in B12, they’ll still provide you with an abundance of energy thanks to their B’s. One half cup of oats will provide you with quality B vitamins that will leave you energized for hours.
2. Beta Glucans
Beta glucans are soluble fibers found in oats that benefit the body in so many ways. First, they keep you full, aid in regularity, assist with removing cholesterol from the bloodstream, and provide a leaner waistline. This is helpful for athletes looking to stay energized, healthy, and keep a toned, lean look to go along with their plant-powered muscles. Oats have been said one of the best foods to reduce excess abdominal weight and are one of the most prized foods for withstanding athletes through long, grueling workouts.
Have a fab day 💜

How to stay hydrated out on the tennis court? Water 💦
✨There have been a number of high profile cases of tennis players not being able to complete matches due to hydration-related issues, heat exhaustion and cramps in recent years, so it’s important to understand the science behind hydration in order to make sure you’re doing the right things before, during and after your matches…
Why is sweat 😓 so important?
✨Staying hydrated 💦is crucial to your performance on the court.🎾
✨Your body is under considerable strain when you’re pushing yourself during a match or intense training session. It’s pumping blood around your body to supply your working muscles with oxygen, dissipate heat and regulate your core temperature.
✨Dehydration increases the stress your body is under during these processes and this hampers your performance.
✨Tennis is a high intensity sport and it’s often played in hot conditions, these two factors tend to drive high sweat rates.
✨In fact, a study showed sweat rates in excess of 1 liter (34oz) per hour for juniors and up to 2.5 liters (85oz) per hour for older adolescents and adults.
✨But your sweat rate is only part of the equation.
✨How much sodium you lose in that sweat is also critical as this electrolyte helps you absorb and retain fluid, topping up your blood plasma volume.
✨Sodium also plays an important role in nerve impulse transmission, the absorption of nutrients in the gut, maintaining cognitive function and in muscle contraction.

✨What does Imogen Tennis 🎾 player eats before going to a top performance training session!! @dukesmeadows_tennis
✨Wholegrain Bread, sweet potato, and brown rice are great sources of complex carbohydrates that should be consumed around 2-3 hours before the training.
✨Combining these foods with a good source of protein means you’ll get a good source of slow-releasing energy to fuel you throughout a whole workout.
✨Carbohydrates should be consumed by all those physically active, but in particular, those who carry out regular endurance activities such as tennis 🎾 🎾🎾🎾👊🏽
